Closing Ceremony of the General Assembly of the Catholic Diocese of Katsina.
The General Assembly of the Catholic Diocese of Katsina officially came to a close today with a solemn Closing Mass held at St. Mukasa Catechetical Training Centre, Malumfashi. The Mass was celebrated by His Lordship, Most Rev. Dr. Gerald Mamman Musa, Bishop of Katsina Diocese, flanked at the altar by the Dean of Malumfashi, Very Rev. Fr. Pius Duniya (MSP), and the Chairman of the General Assembly Committee, Very Rev. Fr. Cyril Ibeh.
In his homily, Bishop Gerald Mamman Musa reflected on the central theme of the General Assembly — the identity of the Diocese of Katsina. He emphasized that the Diocese is made up of a diverse group of Christians, predominantly Hausa, residing in Katsina State. He expressed his deep appreciation for the discussions and presentations throughout the Assembly, noting that the visions shared can be realized if every member of the Diocese commits to a minimum monthly contribution of one thousand naira.

According to him, such collective financial commitment would enable the Diocese to achieve its developmental aspirations, including the establishment of schools, hospitals, and other infrastructure such as a block industry.
The Mass continued with the Eucharistic celebration, culminating the spiritual activities of the day. A significant moment during the Mass was the reception of members of St. Jerome Parish, Gidan Yawa, who came forward to tender their apologies over a recent incident at their parish. His Lordship welcomed and accepted their apologies with fatherly warmth, reminding them that while forgiveness is assured, there are consequences for every action. He assured the parishioners that processes are underway for the reopening of their parish and the reassignment of a priest to them in due course.

During the closing remarks, Very Rev. Fr. Cyril Ibeh, Chairman of the General Assembly Committee, extended heartfelt gratitude to all delegates, resource persons, and participants. He thanked the speakers for their invaluable contributions, despite their tight schedules, and prayed for journey mercies for all who traveled to attend the Assembly.
With a note of finality and thanksgiving, Bishop Gerald Mamman Musa formally declared the General Assembly closed, bringing the historic gathering to an end.
