Spotlight on Ministry: Meet the People Behind Our Missions
Spotlight on Ministry: Meet the People Behind Our Missions
Scripture Focus: Galatians 6:9-10
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”
This week, we shine a light on our Food Outreach Ministry, a team committed to spreading Christ’s love through practical service. From preparing hot meals to offering a listening ear, these dedicated volunteers are the hands and feet of Jesus in our community.
The Ministry’s Mission:
The Food Outreach Ministry exists to meet both physical and spiritual needs. Through every meal they serve, they aim to remind individuals that they are seen, valued, and loved by God. As team leader Sarah Johnson says, “Food is just the beginning. What we really offer is hope.”
Impact Stories:
- James’ Journey:
James, a single father of two, shared how the ministry provided meals when he lost his job during the pandemic. “They didn’t just feed us; they restored my faith,” he said. Now employed, James often volunteers to give back to the community that helped him. - A Community Transformed:
Last year, the team expanded its efforts, partnering with local shelters to distribute care packages. Over 300 families received essentials, with many returning to share testimonies of God’s provision.
How You Can Get Involved:
- Volunteer: Join us in preparing and distributing meals every Saturday.
- Donate: Contribute non-perishable items or funds to keep the pantry stocked.
- Pray: Lift up this ministry and those it serves in your daily prayers.
Reflection Questions:
- How can I use my resources to serve others in need?
- What does it mean to truly “do good to all people” in my daily life?
- Who in my community might be silently struggling and in need of encouragement?
A Prayer to Encourage Service:
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the opportunities You give us to serve others in Your name. Teach us to be generous with our time, talents, and resources. Bless the efforts of the Food Outreach Ministry and those it touches. May we all be a reflection of Your love and compassion. Amen.
